These fries are much less greasy with lots of great taste. They are flavorful with pizzazz! Instead of utilizing deep frying as taste, we are using spice and baking. They turn out great, in addition to all the great health benefit all the spice have with potatoes not being friend (therefore you are getting the nutrients out of them too! Great, ha?). Now that is how everyone should be eating fries. If you get organic potatoes, you could leave the skin on for different flavor. The skin of the potatoes has lots of nutrient with most of the magnesium and potassium being there. You could really use any type of potatoes you like, from gold to red. As indicated, you could use garlic powder or fresh garlic for more garlic taste. Salt is optional.
Ingredients
- 1 large baking potato
- 3 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon Himalayan or sea salt (optional)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (230 degrees C).
- Cut potato into wedges. Mix olive oil, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder and salt (if using) together. Coat potatoes with oil and spice mixture and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 40- 45 minutes in preheated oven (timing may vary some due to your personal oven and location).
